Blaine Johnson

Perth teenager Blaine Johnson played an impressive five AFL games in his first season as a Carlton rookie, after being upgraded following Heath Scotland’s move to the long-term injury list. The half-forward made his debut against Collingwood in Round 15, with his standout performance coming the following week when he kicked his first AFL goal, gathered 15 disposals and took nine marks against St Kilda. He also starred for Carlton’s VFL-affiliate the Northern Blues, winning the goalkicking award with 17 goals in 13 VFL games.
